Chris Jericho Pops Off Again

I don't know if Jericho is working a gimmick or what, but as you should already know I am not a huge fan of his especially recently.  Well, he is back at it again with some interesting comments on current WWE SuperStars.

Of note from LoP's coverage of this interview:
Wrestlers stealing his moves and gimmicks in WWE today and lashing out at CM Punk for doing so: "There seems to be a lack of respect for the forefathers who came in and did it first and it's not just [CM] Punk, it's a whole litany of guys from Miz to Cody Rhodes to Mason Ryan to Sin Cara to Kelly Kelly, everybody is stealing moves, looks, ideas. Brian Pillman once told me if you want to make it in wrestling you have to do something that nobody has done before and nobody is doing that and they are coming off as second rate copies of Chris Jericho, and that's maybe why these guys aren't striking and I watch it and think, 'Seriously, again?'

"A couple of years ago you had 'Miz 4, John Cena 0', where did that come from? Conspiracy Theory, where did that come from? Best in the World, where did that come from? Wearing suits, talking slow, using big words, using certain moves, you know Miz used the word "troglodyte" a few weeks ago and I'm like seriously? If there ever was a word associated with Chris Jericho that would be it. These guys have to start thinking of their own stuff and some times I see some of them and I'm like oh come on. It's not like it's influenced. At least give credit where credit is due."
I found his mention of wearing suits and using big words as a funny example considering this guy was doing this when Jericho was still crapping his pants.

Like I said, I don't know if he's working here (always a possibility in this industry) or if he is just cranky, but he seems to spend a lot of time bitching about how people are copying his gimmick.  I think it's kind of annoying.  What say you?

  1. Jericho has never come off particularly well irl, always seems to genuinely believe his own hype. Nevertheless the way these pronouncements are getting progressively more absurd just screams work, imo anyway.

With him presumably returning at some point and inevitably as a face, maybe its just him/them experimenting with how to turn that round. It's certainly a gimmick with potential.

  2. It does seem that Jericho's comments are most likely leading to a return.

I hope he's not a face though because serious heel Jericho is the best Jericho by a lot.
